It’s funny. I’ve been teaching in technology for almost 2 decades. I’ve had profiles on social media sites since Myspace, but its only now with working on my masters have I realized that I’ve never REALLY had a blog, probably because I don’t seem to post as much on my social sites as most. This is actually a little new to me in an educational context. What I hope to do is have a forum where we can share information and collectively address, discuss and learn from each other.
Here are 3 Blog sites that I believe will be very useful to me and hopefully to anyone else who is reading this:

This blog is a great resource with a list of some very useful blogs and sites focusing mostly on Instructional Design, Learning, E-learning and Technology. I initially found it hard to look for quality sites referring to ID and this one has enough resources that appear to be good quality and clean in finding information.

This blog was created by Connie Malamed with 20 years of experience in ID and a lot of perspective. She lists 10 qualities that she feels are the foundation of what a successful instructional designer should be. It also links to a 12 lesson eCourse on ‘Breaking into Instructional Design” where you get 2 lessons a week and suggested reading material. This site has some really nice comments on it from other Instructional Designers.

This last one is a I liked because it had links to blogs categorized into 3 sections: Instructional Designers, E-Learning and Workplace learning. This is interesting because it does point out that these 3 different areas that are listed definitely have a fair amount of crossover but stops to remind us that there are different things to consider if you’re doing corporate training or restructuring as opposed to teaching and restructuring of a non-profit elementary school.
As I start to build a reservoir of resources pertaining to ID, I plan on adding them here and encourage people to do the same with a small description or keyword that will help people organize their search for information.
